| Jacmelienne de New York, Inc. (RJNY, Inc.). RJNY, Inc. is dedicated to aiding the people of Jacmel, a coastal city in the southwest area of Haiti. In February and April 2010, carrying over 40 cases of medical supplies, food, clothing, and toiletries, members traveled through the Dominican Republic to Jacmel. While in Haiti, the group held meetings with many local officials, successfully advocating for services for a neighborhood where housing was completely destroyed and residents were living under makeshift tents. We also organized a local group of RJNY to access needs and coordinate shipments with our group in New York. Globe and Mail, a Canadian newspaper documented our second trip.http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/project-jacmel/the-tent-city/as-hurricane-season-beckons-politics-stymie-relocation-efforts/article1580816/ You can find the article under NEWS. In the past months, we have also successfully coordinated numerous shipments of supplies from New York to Jacmel.
On January 3, 2011, RJNY members returned to Jacmel on another mission and to also commemorate the first anniversary of the quake. RJNY distributed over 400 toys, 140 books, 100 T-shirts to the children of Marie Reine Immaculee in Jacmel.
